On all of our service outings, we’re mainly concerned with providing total satisfaction to the customers we’re serving. FAQ

How much does it cost to paint my house?

The easiest way to answer that is to let us come give you a free quote. We walk around your project site taking detailed measurements and calculating materials and labor to give you a firm number. That way there are no surprises on painting day either on your job or on our invoice.

I’ve collected a few estimates and the price range is so wide - what is the difference between all of them?

We always preach getting three estimates and have admiration for those that do. The most simple way to differentiate between the quotes is to ask the right questions. Is each painter insured? Do they carry workman’s compensation?  What materials are being quoted? Are materials included in the quote? Is there a warranty? What on the quote is specifically not include? What is a change order and what is included? Do they have references you can speak to? There are painters who fail to get all their bases covered which is one of the reasons why we make sure to be explicit and upfront with each customer.

Which is better: oil based paint or Latex (water based paint)?

This may depend on your situation. In many areas in the US oil based paints are continuing to undergo more and more strict regulations. Our team is up to date with the latest rules in New Braunfels and are more than able to give you advice on the appropriate materials for your job. We always try to present multiple paint options so we use paint in your budget that will last a long time.

How do I know when it is time to get my house painted?

In Texas your house paint should last between 5-10 years. If it’s been that long and still appears to be holding up but you aren’t sure - you can reach out to our team for a quick estimate and they can point out areas of risk or areas to watch for.

Here are some of the things our team looks for when they come to your house:

Where is the sun hitting your house the most directly? The more sun exposure your home has the quicker the protective coatings will deteriorate. Without the protective coatings the materials underneath are more vulnerable to rot or rust.

Is your house faded anywhere? Faded paint suggests that the paint film thickness has deteriorated. Fading paint is an easy sign of vulnerability.

Does you house have peeling paint? If the paint is peeling then not only is it impacting how your house looks but it is certainly failing to provide the protection it is there to provide.

Should I apply one or two coats of paint?

We almost always recommend two coats of paint. That way your coverage lasts the longest and will stay brightest for longest. When we paint we want to create a beautiful product and we also want it to be as long lasting as everyone expects. Two layers of paint allow us to feel confident leaving a project well protected.

It is certainly possible to do a single layer of paint and for it to look good when a job is done. But since sun, weather, and other factors wear away the efficacy of the paint as a defense we prefer and will often recommend 2 coats of paint.

Are more expensive paints actually a higher quality?

If I was to generalize - yes. Higher quality paints are typically composed of higher quality parts. Pigments and resins of a higher quality deliver better, more vibrant colors and smoother finishes, often with less paint. Like many things there are situations where a higher quality paint may not be the best fit because of breathability of how it interacts with older layers of paint. That said - we have relationships with paint suppliers in the area and can recommend the best materials for your specific project.

Do I save money by providing the materials?

Your quote with us may be lower, but you may end up paying more overall. Since we are constantly using the same suppliers we are able to take advantage of bulk pricing that a typical homeowner would not have the same access to. One of our competitive advantages against painting yourself is the price of materials - let alone the quality of the finish itself.

Is workman's compensation really necessary for my painting contractor?

Yes. Painters carry heavy buckets in your home and around your house. They scale letters and may have to contort themselves at times. It is always in your best interest to work with contractors that have workman’s compensation because it gives you a measure of protection when they are working around your home. If you are trying to save money by considering painters without workman’s compensation then consider how vulnerable you are to a lawsuit.

Do you paint cabinets?
